Connect once, then ask about your sleep, heart, workouts and trends in plain English. Answers come from your own Apple Health data.
Strong. You slept 7.7 h a night, up 6%. Resting heart rate is down to 54 bpm and HRV is up to 68 ms.
Your AI looks up what it needs in your synced data, then answers. A few examples:
You averaged 7 h 12 min a night, 24 minutes more than last week. Your deepest nights were after your Tuesday and Thursday runs.
No, it's trending down: 56 bpm on average this month, against 59 in August.
14 workouts, 9 h 40 min in total: 8 runs covering 52 km, 4 strength sessions and 2 rides.
Tuesday (5 h 50 min) and Friday (6 h 5 min). Your HRV the next mornings was 41 and 44 ms, below your 58 ms average.
No passwords and no keys to paste. Your iPhone does the approving.
Get HealthAPI on your iPhone and allow Apple Health once. Your data keeps itself up to date.
In Claude or ChatGPT, add HealthAPI as a connector with the address below. No key or password goes in.
A HealthAPI sign-in page opens. On a computer, scan its QR code with your iPhone; on your iPhone, tap Open HealthAPI. Then tap Approve.
The connector address, for both:
https://healthapi.app/mcpWorks on the web, in the desktop app and in the Claude apps for iPhone and Android.
The Free plan allows one custom connector at a time. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner adds it first in Organization settings, Connectors.

ChatGPT shows a risk warning for every custom MCP server, not only ours.

Your AI can read what you've synced. It can't change or delete anything.
Every connection is approved on your iPhone, and you can disconnect it at any time in the app, under Settings, Connected apps.
Data goes to your AI when you ask it a question, never in the background.
Connecting never puts your API key in a chat. Regenerating your key also disconnects everything you've connected, in case it leaked.
Claude: every plan, including Free, which allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for the organization. ChatGPT: Plus or Pro on chatgpt.com in a browser, Business workspace admins, and Enterprise or Edu members their admin allows. ChatGPT Free and Go can't add custom connectors, and the phone apps can't either.
In some places. Claude's iPhone app has a built-in Apple Health option for Pro and Max subscribers in the US, and ChatGPT has a Health feature that connects Apple Health from its iPhone app where OpenAI offers it. HealthAPI works differently: you add it as a connector, so it works on every Claude plan, including Free, in Claude on the web, on desktop and on your phone, and outside the US. The same connection works in ChatGPT, and the same data is there for your own scripts over a REST API.
Not beyond your HealthAPI plan. Each time your AI looks something up, it uses one of your daily HealthAPI requests: 100 a day on Pro, 1,000 on Developer. A question usually takes a few, and syncing from your iPhone never counts.
The Apple Health data you've synced to HealthAPI, in the categories you turned on in the app: activity, heart, sleep, workouts, body measurements and more. Nothing else on your phone.
In HealthAPI, open Settings, then Connected apps, and choose Disconnect. You can also remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT. Regenerating your API key also disconnects Claude, ChatGPT and everything else you've connected.
Other AI apps and developer tools that support MCP connectors can use the same address and the same approval on your iPhone. Tools that send their own headers can use your API key instead, and scripts and automations can call the REST API.
No. HealthAPI shares your data with the AI you choose; what it says is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor about anything that worries you.
